    City Council Template - [I/we] [am/are] writing to request Moose Jaw City Council develop a bylaw to support the Historic Downtown Area and the businesses operating in the area, as well as to uphold the plans from the “City of Moose Jaw Downtown Local Area Plan, November 2017 WHICH WAS adopted by council. The requested bylaw would keep Moose Jaw streets safe, for all involved. A move towards ensuring that unhoused people receive the mental health and drug addiction services they need.

    PETITION TO THE CITY OF MOOSE JAW AND ITS COUNCIL

    TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING PURSUANT TO SECTION 103 of THE CITIES ACT (SASKATCHEWAN)

    We, the undersigned residents of the City of Moose Jaw in the Province of Saskatchewan, pursuant to section 103 of The Cities Act (Saskatchewan) wish to request that the City of Moose Jaw and its council hold a public meeting to discuss the following matters:

    a. The construction and future operation of a Souls Harbour Rescue Mission located at 212 and 218 River Street West, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; and

    b. The potential for the City and its Council to:

    i. amend Bylaw No. 5346 (Zoning Bylaw of the City of Moose Jaw) to rezone 212 and 218 River Street West to a contract zoning district to support the development of the lands in question for commercial purposes and not the use of the lands as community service institutions or supportive housing, and

    ii. collaborate with Souls Harbour Rescue Mission to find an alternative location to construct its community service institution and supportive housing development.

    By signing the petition, we the petitioners are attesting that we are each a voter of the municipality and have not previously signed the petition:

    1) Please only sign the petition ONCE

    2) All information must be 100% correct

    3) You must be a Moose Jaw Resident and 18 years of age or older.
